Maggie Grace is an American actress who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her best-known roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character from ABC's Lost series and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. Her parents had divorced and they moved together with their mother to Los Angeles. The year 2001 was a difficult one for her, but despite financial struggles it was possible to land her first major part in the web-based video series Rachel's Room as the principal character. She went on to earn a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 with her portrayal of fifteen-year-old victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford was the character Shannon Rutherford for Lost's first two seasons in 2004, and was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award (with other cast members) alongside her. Grace quit the show in the year 2005, to take on a more significant role in films, having appeared alongside Tom Welling as Kim Mills in Taken. The actress has also appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club as well in 2007 as well as in Taken opposite Liam Neeson in 2008 as Kim Mills. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice on Malice in Wonderland which is a modern version of the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the character as Shannon in two episodes of Lost as well as the show's finale. In 2013, she appeared in the sixth series of Californication. She plays Faith as a female groupie and also a model for actors. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. Gyllenhaal is a part of the family and is the elder sibling of Jake Gyllenhaal. The first time she appeared in the films of her father when he was an adolescent. Along with her brother, she was also on the screen in Donnie Darko (2000). The year 2002 saw her starred as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. The actress also starred on Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal has received acclaim from critics for her performance in the erotic romance comedy drama Secretary (2002) and the dramatic Sherrybaby (2006) each of which earned her the Golden Globe Award nomination. The Dark Knight, which was released in 2008 after several highly successful films including World Trade Center (2006) and World Trade Center (2006), earned Gyllenhaal more fame. In the wake of her performance that was a hit as a single mother in Crazy Heart (2009), she was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. In the following years, she appeared in comedy and dramas Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang (2010) Hysteria (2011) and Won't Back Down (2012). Alongside her work as a Secret Service agent, she also appeared in White House Down (2013) and Frank (2014). Her latest roles included the protagonist in The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). The debut of Gyllenhaal as a director and writer took place in 2021, with The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama in which she won the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. The film also was awarded an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
